Not many people have heard of Judee Sill. Some of the old guard on here probably have though. I was reminded of her music when I saw Olivia Chaney recently (supporting Hiss Golden Messenger) cover her song, The Kiss. Judee Sill only made a couple of albums at the beginning of the 70s but really should have been up there with the likes of Carole King and Joni Mitchell. She had an incredibly sad and tragic back story both before and after her recording career including childhood abuse, incarceration for armed robbery, heroin addiction, prostitution and several car crashes. Listen to this and tell me you don't think it's beautiful. She died of an overdose in total obscurity in 1979.
I have. And I couldn't possibly
