Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus to all!
Join us in celebrating all things Welsh, as we woof and bark about our newest additions for #greenman16. Twenty-two more bands you say? Yes please…
We are thrilled to finally welcome the wonderful Warpaint to Green Man, who are set to dazzle the Mountain Stage with their brightly daubed dream pop. Next up are the legendary Grandaddy(!!) Who will also be bringing brand new music to the party, as they continue to affirm their mastery of wonderfully weird indie rock.
Spiritual jazz wizard Kamasi Washington, along with his cosmic turbo powered eight-piece band, will be taking anyone who’s had a Guzzler or two, to another planet. You'll probably need a lie down after frenetic King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s bracing blend of breezy surf rock with eyes-wide psychedelia.
Swedish collective Dungen will be keeping the energy high in the sky with their own eye-opening, prog-rock filtered way. Fresh-faced Gengahr make a welcome return after gracing Green Man AHOY! (the Green Man's own May boat party..) and promise guitar fuzz and shimmering melody in equal measure. Yorkston, Thorne & Khan – with their three-way blend of jazz, acoustic guitar and Indian sarangi – are sure to be a wondrous treat, while Awesome Tapes From Africa’s Brian Shimkovitz, will be playing the most grin-inducing oddities from his vast cassette collection.
Keep your eyes peeled and doggy-senses on alert, though, ‘cause those good old folks at Green Man still have heaps more talent to announce along with the final headliner.
Counting down the seconds to those glorious dog days...
