Cover Versions

What cover version's did folk hear over the weekend, heres what i can recall -

Yo La Tengo- Whole Of The Law(The Only Ones) featuring Gruff Rhys on Keyboards

Eels- Out In The Street (The Who)     Raspberry Beret (Prince)    Love and Mercy(Brian Wilson)

Durand Jones and The Indications- Don't Let Me Down(The Beatles)

Avi Buffalo- Wichita Lineman (Glen Campbell)

Carseat Headrest -Superstition(Stevie Wonder)

they did cat stevens' 'i love my dog' too!

and three (four?) covers of tunes made famous by mexican band trio los panchos

'me voy pa'l pueblo' - 'aquellos ojos verdes' - and at least one other

the limiñanas also did can's 'mother sky'

and what was that song modern nature finished with?

think that may have been a cover too

ah - upon review, kras is right!

it's not the cat stevens song

in my defence, how many people are likley to write a number with the frequently repeated refrain 'i love my dog!' ?

but it is indeed an entirely different song...

where cat loves his dog as much as he loves you, mapache love their dog and he's the only one they'll answer to

Liminanas also did Gloria (Van Morrison, Patti Smith and all)

James Yorkston- Respect (Erasure)

Bridget St John started with a brilliant version of Dylan's Just Like a Woman, and I'm pretty sure she did a couple of other covers.

Yak did Whole Wide World, by Wreckless Eric (a few choruses and a verse, anyway).

Aidan Moffat and RM Hubbert did their fantastic version of Yazoo's "Only You".

Pigs x7 did a Twisted Sister cover
