2014 suggestions

few ideas for 2014:

Crystal Castles, Health- check the Die Slow track, The Orb, Gavin Friday, Cathal Coughlan (former lead singer of the fatima mansions), public service broadcast- ON A BIGGER STAGE, ..oh the list could go on

Phosphorescent for all day Saturday please (or at least a later/longer slot).  If PJ Harvey is possible then several mere mortals with whom we've booked 2014 tickets would near faint with pleasure.  Would also love to see Bon Iver again (ah 2009 was a great year!).

oh and Lord Huron. Definitely Lord Huron!

See that Jonathan Wilson's name has been mentioned a few times already, but I'd just like to reiterate that one.

Caught him at the Kazimier in L'pool a week and a half ago - absolutely amazing. Best gig I've been all year. He played for just over two hours yet there was never a dull moment. Also - he's tailor-made for Green Man. Foxygen would be great for Green Man too. In fact I was disappointed they didn't play this year to be honest...I'd also love to see Cate Le Bon again, or Colorama make an appearance...

The following were all rather good at this year's Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia and would be great for far-out:-

Hookworms

White Manna

The Liminanas

Eat Lights Become Lights

The Paperhead

The Nightbeats

Psychic Ills

The HolyDrug Couple

Klaus Johann Grobe

Yeti Lane

Follakzoid

(Hey...if you don't ask you don't get...)

Just in case you have not noticed--The Lumerians are on at the Band on the wall in Manchester on the 10th April.

i heartily second that liminanas recomendation

i think that liverpool show might be the only UK date they've ever done

and i want to see them bad

i know i say it every year, but these two should be automatic green man bookings

they just get better and better

here's a couple of recent clips from:

scott matthew:      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2E46EtURKJk

and freddie stevenson:     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sn3Q9QPU6_s

freddie's currently on tour with the waterboys - so if you're going to any of their current UK shows, get there early

Mariam the Believer - been listening to this none stop for last week... would like to believe this might be very special in walled garden

Woods have announced a new album, due in Spring. I'd welcome them back. At the risk of repeating myself, the more I hear about Beck's forthcoming album, the more I think it's the perfect time to get him too. And Fat White Family in the Far Out, along with Hookworms and Goat please

Yes Krasyni, I suggested DDW last May when they toured the Uk, although I have yet to hear the new album it is produced by Jonathan Wilson, they would be a good addition.

I know they had technical problems at GM but when it was right it was off the scale great! Hypnotic would be my word, I can hear it now - whatever the final song they did was called - it's embedded!

Yes I think they were my highlight of the weekend, but their set was too short due to the problems, hell the set would have been too short without any problems, love those sonic jams.

Evening all! I'm up late chewing a bone and just wanted y'all to know the we see all your suggestions and very welcome they are too. Currently working our paws off, pulling together a tasty #GreenMan14 bill... Watch this space... Woof!

Keep them coming.

Think I've already mentioned the following:

Barr Brothers, Night Beds, Matthew E White, Bright Eyes(Connor Oberst),Phosphorescent again, newcomer George Ezra, Luke Sital-Singh, Nick Mulvey, Tallest Man on Earth again,I am Kloot, Bellowhead again, Devendra Banhart, the Avett Brothers again......

Will think of some more!

JONATHAN WILSON please Walter if you're still listening. Fanfare has to be my favourite album of the moment. Just brilliant and would be great at GM.
PLEASE!

When I was a kid I was always being told "don't tease the dog" ...

... now the mutt is getting his own back!

If we can't have an announcement, at least an announcement about an announcement would do :)

Some ideas for the more electronic inclined stuff:

Tycho, Jon Hopkins, Baths, Daniel Avery, John Talabot, Bibio, SBTRKT

I'll add Com Truise, Nils Frahm, Stars of The Lid, Dustin O'Hollaran, A Winged Victory for the Sullen, Ulrich Schnauss Boc!! to that Jarevo.

I'm enjoying the new Damien Jurado album - pretty psychedelic and summery...could see myself lying in a sunny Welsh field, glass of wine in hand, with this wafting on the breeze...

Sorry if others have already highlighted these acts, however I would like to see Milo Greene, Atlas Genius, Family of the year and the return of Lord Huron and Beak>

ditto bill callaghan, bon iver and animal collective.  also war paint, metronomy, alice russell and a return for joanna newsome.  and oneohtrix and agoria for the late night pls.
