Quarantine Live Streams

I thought it might be a good idea for people to post upcoming live stream events here. It's hard to keep up with these especially those in the States with the different time differences.

I'll post more soon but this one might be of interest to get the ball rolling:

Weds 22 April: Pine Mountain Sessions - Nathan Salsburg & Joan Shelley - 20:00 EDT (Midnight GMT?) - Facebook

Most of these can usually be viewed afterwards as well.

SEA CHANGE ONLINE: 25/26 APRIL

Last month, one of the most distinctive events in the festival calendar, Sea Change Festival, was forced to bow to the inevitable and postpone this year’s event; while this was no surprise to anybody, it was still a huge disappointment to everybody connected with the much-loved independent festival, as it headed towards into its fifth year.

Now, a couple of weeks on, Sea Change is excited to announce that a special online version of this year’s festival will take place next week. In the time since the postponement, the organisers have set about coordinating a unifying and curious new experience to ease the woes of lockdown and bring Sea Change into homes on 25th and 26th April.

Sea Change will be free to all online at seachangefestival.co.uk

There will be new and exciting things from our mates Heavenly Recordings, Rough Trade Books, Fire Records, Bella Union, Erased Tapes, 4AD and Mute.

The online festival will burst with exclusive performances, events and conversations, which will spread across all social platforms. While the full line-up and schedule will not be completely confirmed until very close to the event, Sea Change is overjoyed to announce that among the exclusive features of the online festival will be live music and appearances from world-renowned musician and composer Yann Tiersen; folk institution and treasured traditional song performer, Shirley Collins (in collaboration with long-time friend, artist, writer and performer Brian Catling and acclaimed sound artist Matthew Shaw); English music hero, troubadour and skiffle aficionado Billy Bragg; and some of the most exciting and vital talents around today, including Porridge Radio, Katie Von Schleicher, Nap Eyes, Gordi, Mystery Jets, Richard Norris and Joe Muggs.

Gordon Burn Prize-winning author (and two-time Sea Change cricket teamster) David Keenan will host Autonomic Tarot online; revered music culture chronicler Jon Savage will trace his Oral History of Joy Division; and writer Rob Chapman will explore A Very Irregular Head, his acclaimed biography of Syd Barrett.

There will be more announced, so keep in touch!

Thanks so much for posting this.  I hadn't heard about it, but have just had my best day since lockdown began, sitting in the garden with a drink and listening to some great music.  As close to a festival as you can get without actually being there.  I wonder if Green Man will do something like this?

Yep, some gorgeous performances and talks.  Looks like some are going down, so worth getting on this.  Amazing set by Other Lives - I want their living room.  Douglas Dare and Manu Delago was just mesmerising - lots of great stuff from Erased Tapes

Thanks for those Kras.  Keep 'em comin!

That's nice, I get to see Robert Webb, not quite live but did have a ticket to see him promoting his book, obviously cancelled but chance to see him nevertheless

Gill Landry has been doing regular weekend streams on Facebook and Instagram with the odd midweek session too. He has already done a front-to-back of each of his albums and seems to have settled on a live request show on a Saturday (if he wrote it you can request it) and a covers set on a Sunday.

The covers have been fun and he's asking for suggestions which he trys to learn for the next weekend. Streams are usually midday and 7pm PDT which is 8pm and 3am GMT.

Not a livestream as such but Bad Seed teevee just launched on youtube, 24hr channel showing gigs, videos, interviews, rarities etc.

My 2nd favourite festival Kilkenny Roots should have taken place this weekend.

They've put a list of livestreams up on their website to ease the pain a bit.   (kilkennyroots.com)

Might be a bit late depending on what time the pub has my pizza ready. Trying to recreate the year I missed most of Unknown Mortal Orchestra's set waiting for a pizza for my daughter.

Just seen (via Bandsintown) that Richard Thompson is doing a live stream next Monday afternoon at 2.  Sorry cannot find a link to post but sure will be easy to locate.

The folk on foot front room festival was really nice, only spoiled by the Cummings interruption.

Enjoyed O' Hooley and Tidow (which suprised me), Kate Rusby, Johnny Flynn doing his Detctorist song and, of course the great RT.
